ANZMOSS is excited to announce that applications are open for the 2026 ANZMOSS Education Grants to support attendance at the ANZMOSS Annual Meeting in Hobart, Tasmania to be held 12th – 14th August 2026.

Total value of each education grant is up to $1500. The final number of grants will be determined upon receiving all applications.

The grants aim to provide an opportunity for early-career and first-time attendees from across a range of disciplines to engage with leading experts, learn about the latest developments in metabolic and bariatric surgery and contribute to the continued advancement of obesity care in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

It is the ANZMOSS vision, that these Education Grants strengthen multidisciplinary collaboration and learning within the obesity management community, ensuring that clinicians, researchers, and allied health professionals at all stages of their careers can engage in the exchange of ideas, the latest research, and best practice approaches that shape the future of obesity care.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet all the below outlined eligibility criteria to be considered for this grant:

  • The applicant must be a member of ANZMOSS at the time of submitting their application or provide evidence of their application to join as a member (full or associate/affiliate member).

  • The education grants are intended for first time attendees at the conference. The applicant must not have previously attended an ANZMOSS Annual Scientific Meeting (attendance at other ANZMOSS associated events such as the Multidisciplinary Obesity Care Masterclass will not be considered an exclusion criteria)

  • Be a Registered healthcare practitioner endorsed to work in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand in accordance with their governing bodies and provide evidence of this registration as part of their application.

  • Details of any financial support or funding already secured (e.g. research grants, sponsorship and / or other grants) must be declared and the proposed use of the funds should also be included. Please note that additional funding from external bodies may affect selection.

Application Requirements

  1. Provide a one-page CV outlining relevant experience and qualifications

  2. Provide a one-page personal statement demonstrating the benefits of their attendance at the meeting and ability to share this with the Bariatric surgical community in Australia & New Zealand.

  3. Provide a letter of support from a professional mentor in the field of obesity care

  4. A completed ANZMOSS Education Grant application form
